'Jimmy Miller' is a contemporary story about a girl of twelve who is forced by circumstances beyond her control to move way from all her friends and the familiar things she holds dear. At first she hates the new housing estate but when she finds a fascination with the building site and makes friends with another girl her life is suddenly not so bad. The story deals with many issues for an enquiring young teenage mind, such as rural decay, sibling rivalry, the nature of friendship, single parents, sexual discrimination and Viking history!
