A Few Small Details is anything but small and few, and in a way is not at all about details either, but more about the big picture of life and design. Academic, esoteric, amusing and on occasion profound, this book is a collection of lectures, conference presentations, essays and published articles by an author who has lived by design, as a professor and professional, and as a traveler to many countries on the globe. If there is any purpose to this book, it is to acknowledge the value of ideas, big and small, that inform the creative process. Hopefully, it is also an inspiration to students, teachers, designers and writers, as well as thanks and a wink to all of the colorful characters whose existence in the author's life have somehow influenced these excursions.
