Newton's Mistake: Why Gravity Remains a Mystery

Nothing. When Newton declared that an object in motion tends to stay in motion, he failed to realize that this law applied to all objects, even objects that appear to be at rest on the earth's surface. This crucial misconception is why he couldn't explain how gravity really works. This set the precedence for the next several centuries that mass just mysteriously moves through space with no accountable science explaining changes in speed or direction. The Motion Myth paradigm, the unchallenged assumption that objects just mysteriously move through space, has been passed down to us and is the main reason scientists, including Einstein, failed to actualize the role of quantum physics in the motion of mass through space.
