Life Lessons 101

The anecdotes in Life Lessons 101 are all true. Culled from "teachable moments" the author had during his years as an instructor in the public schools of Texas, these are the very personal tales his students have asked for year after year. Why? Because they illustrate truths and information about living that teenagers are hungry for and in ways they can relate to. It's "Reality Literature" that teachers don't want to deal with and parents conveniently forget to mention- usually because they're too busy trying to discover these truths for themselves. It's the real and practical side of a kid's education- the human part -that deals with awkward love, death of a pet, responsibility, learning for the love of learning, taking a stand, being different (on purpose), and other aspects of growing up that stick in a kid's mind and heart for the rest of his life but aren't in the curriculum and don't come up in conversations at the dinner table.
