School of Reckoning

Hilltop Hall used to be a grand old English house; now it is an elite boarding school for girls. But the faded brick walls hide a dark secret... After a difficult start, fifteen year old Eliza (or Lizzy, as she prefers to be called) slowly begins to make friends at her new school. But the girls find themselves harassed by a group of bullies who seem intent on making their lives a misery. So they decide to seek revenge - but not in the usual way. Their quest for revenge leads these four girls to become involved in magic and the supernatural, not realising exactly what they are getting themselves into. Who is the spirit that roams the narrow back staircases of the main building? And is this the same entity that is trying to establish communication with them? These are some of the questions the girls are determined to find answers to. But what starts as a bit of harmless fun soon turns nasty, and it doesn't take long before the girls are entangled in a complicated web of mystery and malice. A paranormal mystery set in England, with certain scenes based on true life events, this book also deals with teen-related issues such as bullying, peer pressure, relationships and identity.
