Mangroves

"The Mangroves" is a visual photographic essay of one of our coastal and wetland natural wonders. Mangrove trees are feats of master engineering and works of art. They stand strong through the toughest storms. They house bird rookeries and fish nurseries. They help the shorelines by reducing beach erosion. Take a closer look at the beauty of the black, white and red mangroves indigenous to subtropical climates. This exploration is done through the medium of black and white photography. All the mangrove subjects and intracoastal habitat photographed in The Mangroves are centrally located near the Orange River's inlet into the Caloosahatchee River, at Fort Myers, Florida.
