Price of Love

Love. A very human thing this... love. The softlings claimed it could bring such peace and joy, and yet it was also responsible for so much death and dismay. Phintomini, the copper dragon, was confused by the obvious paradox. He did not understand it and as it was with all things he did not understand, he would not rest until understanding was attained. He would learn of this thing called love, but not in the way of his previous lessons. It would not be from reading the ancient scrolls, or from his spying on the neighboring cities and townships. This time, his lesson would come from that of a simple, orphaned, elven child, and a kidnapped priestess. This time he would learn of love that, though freely given, comes with a powerful price.
