When Death is only the beginning, the Afterlife becomes your new career path...

So, dying really wasn't on my to-do list.

Yet here I am, freshly deceased and newly resurrected in a body that still doesn't feel like mine (though I can't complain about the upgrade).

My deal with Afterlife Enterprises is simple: retrieve ten lost souls from the Underground City, and I get to keep living. Sounds straightforward, right? Except this "Underground City" is basically what you'd call Hell, and I wasn't exactly given an employee handbook.

Lucky for me, I've got Bill, my alcoholic "guardian" angel, and Tallis Black, a two-thousand-year-old Celtic Druid with secrets darker than the haunted forest he calls home.

Tallis is intimidating, infuriating, and impossibly attractive - and I'm pretty sure he's hiding something major about his connection to the Underground.

Between battling demon clowns, navigating sewers guarded by wolf-men, and trying not to get killed (again), I'm starting to realize that afterlife office politics are deadly serious.

Especially when Alaire, the keeper of the Underground City, takes a disturbing interest in me.
