Oathbearer: Book One: Bound by Blood

"Most choose their destinies, but for some, destiny chooses them." They are the Vyntheri, the children of the Goddess, born with white hair and red fire in their eyes. The powerful Church of the One has branded them as witches and sentenced them to die by burning alive on the stake. One such witch named Senja escapes her death sentence with the aid of a mysterious old swordsman. Taking an oath to wield the Sword of Balance, she embarks on a desperate quest to break the Inquisition and save her world from an ancient, unholy evil. A dark fantasy trilogy by Dennis McDonald, the author of 13 Nightmares, Ebon Moon, and Undead Flesh.
