Rachel was born with the mark of the serpent and as such, can alter into a magnificent beast. Life isn't easy for a teenager with escalating powers, nor for one with a chip on her shoulder. Rachel's troubled youth haunts her. When her childhood scar begins to pulsate, Rachel is perplexed as it invokes old terrors. The mystery deepens when an infant hybrid is kidnapped, and the child's serpent can telepathically take over Rachel's serpent as it seeks help in protecting the girl.
