Teddy expected the adventure of a lifetime when she left Boston in spring, 1890, to spend the summer in Montana. She didn't expect to fall in love with the wild country, the openness, the smell of sage. She didn't expect to discover that she belonged there, that she was meant to live at Long Butte Ranch. And if that meant marrying the often-taciturn owner, so be it. She would just have to make the best of it. There were only two problems. Caleb didn't trust women, any women.
