Holy Warrior: Afghani Peril

HOLY WARRIOR Afghani Peril is the Eighth Volume of the Nathan J. Allison Series Brothers to the Bone. It preserves the main characters from the previous volumes but comes forward in time to when they are older, wiser, more experienced and closer to the present day and dealing with issues we face today in their infancy. Afghany Peril is about the rise of modern Islamic Jihadism and its origins. It is about a clash of cultures and their underlying values. But it is much more than that. It is about a clash between the truth and generations of lies, half truths and malice that brings the nations of the earth to where they are now. It is about human drama, about suffering and malevolent hatred of one people for another. It is between good and an ancient evil almost as old as human history itself. But it is also about the human struggle to find meaning, and to live honorably in a world of contradictions and tests of loyalty. It is about examining one's own traditions. It is about loneliness and despair, and n the midst of all that, it is about redemption. It is about friendship and geopolitical entangling alliances that ultimately affects our very existence. It is about Farouq Abdul Hadid and Barton Webber, two men who it would seem are half a world apart and who have very little in common. Yet, in the end they share much of the same heart. It is about coming of age and finding oneself standing apart. It is about mistakes and failure, but about courage and rising above. It is about hope in the face of bleakness of battle. It is about the mistakes that the US and the western world made that contributed to its rise and its launch upon an unprepared and unsuspecting world.
