Charlotte Joan Sternberg (1920-2003) was an accomplished fine artist and imaginative illustrator of Americana. She was best known for her many Christmas card illustrations, painted in the challenging medium of egg tempera, which she learned at Yale Art School. In addition to biographical material, this book features a wide variety of Charlotte's paintings, which range from intimate interiors to sweeping landscapes. With great detail and good humor, she portrayed the American scene, especially historic New England.
