Perfect Six

The newly formed Thoroughbred Investigations was struggling, but Bill Shannon a.k.a. Billy Six didn't mind. He preferred spending his time at the racetrack. Tracking down witnesses for a personal injury lawyer wasn't what he had in mind when he retired from teaching. That was all his ex-cop partner's idea. Then the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself. All they had to do was tail the wife of a drug company CEO magnate and photograph her in the act of adultery. At first, Six balked at the sleazy job, but then found out she was supposed to meet her lover at the Keeneland bloodstock sales. The chance to go to the race track his Great Uncle gained famed proved too much and he agreed. He should have known better. The woman had more than carnal knowledge on her mind. She had a secret; a secret so valuable a cabal will do anything to possess. The once simple tail and tag assignment now turned into a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Chicago, the central coast of California and the Valdivian forests of South America and the woman Shannon had come to spy upon became his duty to protect with his life. 2nd in the series.
