There is nothing harder than being black in the south...except being blue. Michelle Davis was the oldest child of a stern father and a very distant mother. As early as Michelle could remember she was taught to be obedient and God fearing, but why had God made her so different? No matter where she went she stood out. Her coloring mirrored her emotional state as she carried a dark secret from her childhood that she could never escape. With her recent success as a new senior partner in a prestigious law firm, it appeared that Michelle was finally on the road to happiness. Despite her religious upbringing, Michelle was doubtful that there was a God. How could there be when with every blessing came a new nightmare in her life. The harder she tried to erase her past the more she found she needed her faith.
