Winds of Change

Author: ¬+ Dory Peters Description:

Winds of Change is a moving and memorable First. In this engaging, insightful, and culture-bridging novel, Dory Peters becomes the first Navajo, Latter-day Saint, Returned Missionary (Switzerland Z√°rich Mission) to tell, in first-rate fiction, how it was for Victor to grow up in two diverse but spiritually rich worlds--the Navajo and the LDS; how it was to be suddenly torn from a cherished, familiar, organic, inward, image-centered, and deeply traditional way of viewing the world and thrust into a vastly different, mechanistic, world-centered society, every bit as deep and traditional; how he becomes and remains part of both Navajo clan and Mormon family; how he struggles to identify and cultivate the best of each; yet how he becomes and remains an Other in both cultures.
