Mayte and the Bogeyman/Mayte y El Cuco

The street vendors' animated calls fill Mayte's ears. Plantains, avocados, mangos, shouts Don Luis. Eggs, eggs, yells Don Maximo. Ooooeeee! whistles the blade sharpener. Extra! Extra! calls Cholo, who gives Mayte a wink and a smile along with the daily newspaper. Mayte enjoys the hustle and bustle of all the vendors' visits except for one: Don Aparicio, whose bitter disposition contrasts with the chorus of jingling bells on his ice cream cart.
