Called, Equipped and Deployed to Love

Why Are You Here? FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! Finding Your Purpose in Your Catholic Faith If we are to be effective ambassadors for Christ, ministers of reconciliation and stewards of the mysteries of God, we must be aware of God's plan and grasp our vital role in it. For adults, this education involves the three R's: Remembering what we were taught in childhood Christian formation; Reevaluating the doctrine from a more mature viewpoint; and Recommitting ourselves to be disciples of Christ and loyal soldiers in His army of Lovers. This book offers: - A simple guideline for revitalizing your Christ life. - A broad array of Catholic resources to inspire further study. - A deeper understanding of the treasure the Church offers as you are called, equipped and deployed in God's service! "Stewardship is an expression of discipleship, with the power to change how we understand and live out our lives....Beginning in conversion, change of heart and mind, this commitment is expressed not in a single action, not even in a number of actions over a period of time, but in an entire way of life. It means committing one's very self to the Lord." U.S. Catholic Bishops, Stewardship, A Disciple's Response "...make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion, devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 1:5-8 Marilyn Judd has taught Christian formation and stewardship nationally for a total of 30 years. She is also the author of Creating a Stewardship Council, the Our Response to God's Love Program, numerous articles, educational materials, and a nationally circulated newsletter.
