This book contains information from ten books in Record Group 50 in the Tennessee Archives: 1. book) contains transcripts of warrants adjudged invalid by West Tennessee Commissioners including military bounty warrants and preemption warrants. 2. book) contains transcripts of warrants adjudged invalid by East Tennessee Commissioners. The book is called "East Tennessee Board of Commissioners Docket book 3 1796-1818" on the cover. Most of these warrants were from the Sullivan and Washington County land offices and a few were from the Greene County office. 3. book) contains transcripts of warrants adjudged valid by East Tennessee Commissioners. Most of these warrants were from the Sullivan and Washington County land offices. This book is very similar, but not identical, to book 3 in series 10. Most of these warrants were from the Sullivan and Washington County land offices. Some were issued due to entries in John Armstrong's office, And a few were from the Greene County office. 10. book) contains transcripts of warrants issued for land prior to the Cherokee removal. These warrants include preemption warrants, warrants originally issued to Evans' Battalion and the Commissioners' guard, and warrants originally issued from John Armstrong's office.
