If a North Carolina Land Warrant wasn't used before 1804, Tennessee allowed them to be used to obtain a grant from Tennessee from 1806 to about 1822. These warrants will appear with the 1st Surveyors Books. The 1st District covered the counties of: Davidson, Dickson, Jackson, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner, White, Williamson and Wilson. There are 9 location books for the 1st Surveyor's District. Created in 1806, this district followed the same borders as the Military District created in North Carolina in 1782.
