Blind Dates: Weird Stories

Desire is a door that only opens in one direction.

They arrive starving. For skin, for attention, for proof they still exist inside someone else's wanting.

A man who treats women like fruit to be tasted. A wife who leaves her ring on the sink and drives toward a stranger. An actress whose beauty repels every man she meets. A self-styled errand of mercy who mistakes his appetites for charity. Each steps willingly into an evening that promises intimacy - a first date, a secret affair, a therapeutic embrace - and each discovers that the rooms they've entered have their own anatomy: walls that shift, flesh that forgets its shape, exits that were never really there.

In Blind Dates, Harambee K. Grey-Sun makes courtship and metamorphosis indistinguishable. What begins as seduction becomes something the body can't reverse. And somewhere between the first glass of wine and the wet sound of something opening, whoever you were stops being available as an option.

Nine stories of weird literary fiction. No safe words.
