Monster of Grammont

Two young Englishmen touring postwar France stumble upon a magnificent château where one of them once recovered from the horrors of the trenches. Welcomed back as guests, they soon sense that something is deeply wrong. The servants live in terror, mirrors shatter without cause, and the master of the house speaks darkly of warnings and an evil presence he calls the Monster.

When their host is found murdered, the friends realize the haunting is no superstition but a calculated campaign of fear. A foreign conspiracy is closing in on the family, and the master's beautiful daughter stands at its center. Aided by a shrewd detective, the pair set a trap for an enemy who strikes from the shadows and always seems one move ahead.

What follows is a relentless duel of nerve and cunning across the forests and corridors of the Marne, where every locked door conceals a secret and survival depends on unmasking a killer before the next blow falls.
