Alias Whispering White and Other Tales from the Pulps

Ike Harper and Magpie Simpkins-two good-natured, rough- and-tumble miners-are perfectly content digging for gold and minding their own business. But when their friend Franklyn Burt receives a heartbreaking letter, they decide to throw in their lot and head East to save his sweetheart, Marion White, from marrying a worthless duke.

Posing as Marion's long-lost millionaire uncle "Whispering White," Magpie and Ike stumble into high society with all the grace of a mule in a drawing room. Through mistaken identities, crooked card games, and a reception that will never be forgotten, they turn the town of Redfield upside down. But the duke has secrets of his own-and when the truth finally comes out, it's going to take more than a six-shooter and a quick wit to set things right. Saddle up for a rip-roaring tale of Western humor and high-stakes deception!
