How Little Things Matter reflects the next step in Jason Holt's ongoing poetic investigation of the expressive potential of unusual linguistic forms. The poems here range from terse plays on familiar idioms to layered meditations on selective ambiguity as a source of aesthetic rewards, both fleeting and sustained. From light wordplay to unusual syntax, from rhythmic variation to suggestive repetition, the elements of Holt's signature style are here on full display.
