Dance Anatomy Coloring Book: A Visual Guide to Form, Function, and Movement

With this coloring book and interactive guide to the human body, dance students and teachers will have fun learning anatomy while coloring dozens of detailed illustrations of the body in key dance positions.

In the tradition of the best-selling Yoga Anatomy Coloring Book, The Dance Anatomy Coloring Book seeks to demystify anatomy for dancers, dance students, and teachers. Author Tricia Zweier, an associate professor of dance and dance science, provides an entertaining and informative journey through the human body, focusing on the bones, joints, and muscles that are employed in dance. After an overview of helpful terms and the systems of the body, Tricia covers the skeletal system, joints, and connective tissue, followed by the muscular system. Each anatomical feature is illustrated with a beautiful black-and-white drawing of a dance position to color. The book includes positions from a variety of dance styles, including ballet, modern dance, hip hop, and jazz. Coloring the bones and muscles of the body, as well as the names for them, helps to solidify learning and aids in remembering their location and function. Fun facts about anatomy and tips for dancers are sprinkled throughout the book. Thirty-two perforated flash cards enable readers to quiz themselves and study dance anatomy on the go.
