Magical Gold Coins: When Children Believe

This book is an invitation for you to join me on a quest to open to the young ones, who carry a special type of wisdom. The stories are mostly presented in chronological order, with names changed to protect their bearers. They are all true.I began my work with children over forty years ago at a learning center for kids with a wide range of emotional needs. I launched an art program called Project A.W.A R.E. that explored nature, native traditions and environmental issues using the arts. In those days I thought I would become an expressive therapist, but life led me elsewhere and I became a visionary, writer, artist, and a leader in eco-feminist spirituality. Over the last ten years, under the umbrella of A.W.A.R.E., I have developed C.O.P.E(Circles of Peace Education). It brings the arts and bullying prevention together. The two worlds I work in now - one as a visionary and the other as an art teacher - have slowly and ever so subtly begun to weave a pattern of profound interconnections for me.
