In 1984, on their 14th birthday, Samantha's twin sister, Suzanna, disappeared. She was never found. No one was ever charged with the crime.

For 40 years, Samantha blamed herself, believing her sister was taken in her place. In 2024, after everyone she ever cared about is gone, Samantha gives up for the final time.

However, rather than the absolute nothingness she expected in death, she finds herself on the Ash Train, a place of judgement and choices. There, she negotiates an opportunity for a second chance, just one chance to travel back in time and save her sister.
