Let's Hit the Grass: A Story About Industrial Action

Between 1989 and 2022 Damian King worked as an organiser with the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and the Electrical Trades Union. In this 33 years period, he assisted union members to improve wages and employment conditions and to enhance employment security. In pursuit of these objectives, he helped union members organise and undertake more than 100 strikes.

In Let's Hit The Grass, Damian examines seven industrial disputes between 1987 and 2020 where he represented union members. These disputes clearly illustrate the importance of being able to take industrial action. He also shows how the ability to take industrial action has been substantially restricted over the last 33 years.
