Will Your Grandkids Be OK?: A Grandparent's Guide to Mentoring Future-Ready Grandchildren

A practical and inspiring grandparenting guide for supporting grandchildren in a rapidly changing world.

What kind of world will your grandchildren inherit - and will they be ready for it?

In Will Your Grandkids Be OK?, mentoring expert and grandmother Melissa Richardson shows how to move beyond traditional grandparenting into a more powerful role.

This is not about stepping into a parenting role of raising children. It's about learning how to mentor your grandchildren's development, respectfully guiding them through life.

Drawing on developmental psychology, resilience research, and Indigenous wisdom, Richardson introduces the Roots & Wings Framework - a powerful model to mentor any age group.

In this guide, you'll learn how to:

• Support your grandchildren's emotional development and wellbeing.
• Help them build resilience, confidence, and independence.
• Turn everyday interactions into mentoring moments.
• Respond to anxiety and emotional challenges with calm and clarity.
• Share wisdom without lecturing or overstepping.

Whether you're a new grandparent or navigating relationships with older grandchildren, this book offers the tools, language, and confidence to show up in ways that truly matter. It's a guide to finding a meaningful role in later life, so you can contribute, connect, and leave a lasting legacy.
