Malice Fontaine and Pearl Trinh, secret agents for the Directorate of Intelligence Monitoring (DIM), must infiltrate a festering neo-Nazi movement in the Midwest and engineer its downfall.

Touring a mythical South Dakota, including the Sturgis Bike Rally, Deadwood, and Mount Rushmore, Malice and the agents of DIM must contend with white supremacists, militant evangelicals, and an elusive secret society, all of whom have aligned themselves under a single political movement.

Confronting ghosts from her Creole past, Malice is challenged to define her loyalties, test her moral boundaries, and make personal sacrifices as she navigates the violence and uncertainty of a society at the point of fracture.
