Tik-Tok of Oz

A shipwrecked girl. A mechanical man. A daring expedition into the underground kingdom of the Nomes.

When Betsy Bobbin and her mule Hank are swept ashore after a storm at sea, they find themselves in a strange land bordering the magical country of Oz. Their adventures soon bring them together with the Shaggy Man, who is searching for his missing brother, and a remarkable company that includes Tik-Tok, the clockwork man of Oz; Queen Ann Soforth and her determined army; and the eccentric Polychrome, Daughter of the Rainbow.

Their journey leads across enchanted countries and ultimately into the subterranean dominions of the Nome King, where prisoners must be rescued and dangerous enemies overcome. Filled with magical transformations, curious creatures, comic misadventures, and unexpected allies, L. Frank Baum's Tik-Tok of Oz is a lively fantasy adventure celebrating friendship, loyalty, courage, and the determination to bring those we love safely home.
