Centipedes: Backyard Bugs and Creepy-Crawlies (Engaging Readers, Level 1)

Centipedes are not bugs-but they have lots of legs! Some have almost 400. They move fast, use their front legs as fangs, and hunt at night. Centipedes help gardens by digging tunnels and eating pests. Find out how many legs they can grow, and why they'll never have exactly 100!

Level 1 readers are aimed at children who are starting to recognize common words and are capable of sounding out unfamiliar words. Short, simple sentences help guide the reader through new concepts and ideas.
