This is the story of a teenage schoolboy whose desire to become an airline pilot led him to joining one of Australia's two major domestic airlines at a time when they were both moving into the jet age.

From the Tiger Moth to the Boeing 767, the reader is shown the problems that can be encountered during a normal flight, as well as descriptions of some of the unique and dangerous situations an airline captain has to cope with.
