Warrior Blood

From castle building in the UK to fighting on both sides of the American Civil War, this non-fiction book follows the ancestry and the events connected to the de Lacy family.

The de Lacy family was a very large baronial family that originated from Maine in France. Even though the family was never, as such, considered to be historically important, they are the ancestors of many whose names have become renowned through time.

From the 11th to the 19th century, this book follows the military prowess of the family as they fought in the Conquest of England, against the Scots, and both for and against Napoléon. As they found great military glory in Spain, Russia, Austria and as they fought against each other in the wars of Elizabeth I, Cromwell, William of Orange between England and Ireland, and, finally, in the American Civil War.
