Why Daddy Why: An ANZAC Story

Why Daddy Why tells the story of Billy, a happy-go-lucky 21-year-old who ships off to fight in WWII, motivated by a chance to see the big wide world.

Billy is the apple of the eye of his parents, Frank and Vera, who run a small farm on the Taieri Plains in the South Island of New Zealand.

The heartwarming tale of love, tragedy and hope was inspired by the chance discovery of a photograph of an unknown soldier at the local rubbish dump. Much of the author's own rich family relationships and experiences flow through the story, creating a personal connection with readers.
