Since ancient times, two clans have violently disputed the right to use their gift versus free will. This fight left many of the present-day Morgans, outnumbered and persecuted by the Kanes for using their powers, in hiding while some were avenging the slaughter of their kin. But then a newborn baby, Una - whose mother belongs to a third, unknown clan with superior powers and whose will is so strong that all human minds are hers to command - exercises her power to will humanity to be tolerant among its kind. However, peace comes at a price: the loss of free will for almost all, and a planet enslaved. The frail new world teeters precariously as some search for the truth and others a way to undo the damage.

The only survivors of the global catastrophe that follows Una's second, disastrous will-push are small in number, but they are determined to create a weapon to deal with the aftermath while they hunt for the architects of destruction in order to gain their revenge.

Inspired by the pervasive and invasive propaganda that dominates our world, the Peitho series explores key themes that are relevant today - the abuse of power, the limits of family loyalty, and the loss of freedom to make choices in life.
