A short introduction to the art and long life of one of the greatest artists in history, Titian Vecelli. The art of Titian spans the whole of the Italian Renaissance, moving through many visual styles, ending up with a striking use of broken colour that looks forward to Impressionism. The book (first published in 1902) is illustrated by works from each stage of Titian's lengthy and remarkable artistic career. Hurll provides entries on each of the major works by Titian.
