Muzak: The Visual Art of Porcupine Tree showcases the visual collaboration between Danish photographer, film maker and artist Lasse Hoile and progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Including many never-before seen images from his photography, stage backdrops, films and album art sessions. The book covers the period between critically acclaimed 2002 album In Absentia to the 2009 Grammy-nominated The Incident. Lasse Hoile's renowned visual collaboration with Porcupine Tree front man Steven Wilson endures to this day, with Lasse creating the album artwork and stage visuals for his latest best-selling solo album, 2017's To the Bone, currently touring world-wide.
Lasse Hoile (born 1973 in Aarhus, Denmark) is an artist, photographer and film-maker best known for his collaborations with musician Steven Wilson and his projects Porcupine Tree and Blackfield. Hoile has directed videos and created a number of album sleeves, visuals and band photography for Porcupine Tree since the release of In Absentia in 2002. In 2005, he directed the recording of Porcupine Tree's first live performance DVD, Arriving Somewhere..., which took place at Park West, Chicago. He is influenced by melancholic music, Francis Bacon, David Lynch, and Andrei Tarkovsky
