Extraordinary Life of Francis Wonder

After the war, the world is mean and dispiriting, lacking in meaning and full of vehemence.

The returning "hero," Francis Wonder, cannot stay. He sets off to find a place with a different kind of currency: wonder. Somewhere he can be at ease.

After travelling the world, he reaches a place to settle and founds his own town, a town that becomes a magnet for the world's most charmingly eccentric characters.

As the inhabitants of the Town of Wonder settle into their extraordinary lives, a trickster with a magic watch appears, threatening to turn all their fortunes upside down.
