Little Kettle has the most important job in the whole kitchen. Every morning he whistles everyone awake for tea. Then one day his whistle simply vanishes, and all that comes out is a sad little pfffft.
So Little Kettle does something he has never done before. He hops down off the stove and sets off to find it. Past the clanky old radiator, out through the back door and into the great big garden, he asks everyone he meets the same question: "Have you seen my whistle?" A creaky weather-vane, a singing robin and a kind old watering can each have something to teach him, but his whistle is nowhere to be found.
Maybe what he was looking for was inside him all along.
Little Kettle's Lost Whistle is a gentle bedtime story for children aged 3 to 5. It's a warm, reassuring tale about friendship, kindness and finding your own voice, with plenty of join-in sounds to say out loud and soft, hand-painted pictures to pore over. Just right for cuddling up at the end of the day.
