Ash and Hunger: The Past Never Stay Buried It Flowers

Twenty-year-old Alexandria Garret has always lived in comfort, if a little too sheltered and stubborn for her own good. But when her quiet life shatters overnight, her parents slain, her home destroyed, and a mysterious, beautiful creature watching her every move, she's thrust into a world of blood, betrayal, and unearthly magic.

Determined to fight back, Alexandria follows the threads of her family's secrets into burned ruins and hidden laboratories, uncovering truths that leave her questioning who she can trust, and even what it means to be human. Alongside Teylan, a strange hermit with a mushroom beard and more wisdom than worms in his pockets, she learns that survival isn't just about strength, it's about choices, and every choice has a cost.

As enemies close in and allies prove treacherous, Alexandria finds herself caught between vengeance and mercy, love and loathing, humanity and monstrosity. Ash and Hunger is the first instalment in a Victorian-inspired gothic fantasy duology, weaving queer identity, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers tension, and haunting questions of morality into a story that's as beautiful as it is bloody.
