Finger Exercises for the Cello, Book Three trains the intermediate cellist's left hand in strength and agility using first through seventh positions. The book begins with studies in first through fourth positions, with intensive work on playing across strings in positions. Continuing to include studies on crossing strings, the book progresses to finger exercises that reach fifth, sixth, and seventh positions.
