Approaching Pianowood Harbor is the final collection from award-winning poet Michael Spring. He had completed the manuscript, which earned Honorable Mention in the 2024 Sally Albiso Poetry Book Award, before he passed in 2024.

John Amen writes in a Foreword that "Spring's unsentimental yet reverent appreciation for nature, and its role in human development, was an integral part of his poetic work. There's an undeniable interdependence between humanity and earth, he suggests; we're made of the earth, the earth is made of us. We're inseparable."
