Pastor, What Are You Wearing?

About Pastor, What Are You Wearing?

Clothing speaks. Church members can be gifted at blurting out unsolicited questions. Pastors are often confronted with such questions at awkward or inopportune times. Pastor, What Are You Wearing? is such a question. Normally, we'd turn to the Bible to attempt an answer. But there is no proof text for pastoral attire, is there?

A lack of a proof text or direct command does not mean that the Bible is silent on this question. Using the tried Practical Shepherding model of biblical, historical, pastoral, and practical considerations, this volume helps pastors think about their attire in a confessionally consistent fashion. As a pastor, your attire speaks. This book will help you think about what your clothing is saying.

About the Thriving Pastors Series

This book is part of the Thriving Pastors Series, a collaborative effort between Courier Publishing and Practical Shepherding that was birthed out of a conviction. This conviction is that pastors should not have to navigate the complexities of ministry alone.

The calling to shepherd Christ's church is uniquely challenging today. With the shifting of culture, increasing secularization, and the steady decline of churches across North America have introduced questions and pressures that few were addressing even a decade ago. Faithful pastors now find themselves facing unfamiliarities without clear guidance.

Each volume addresses a pastoral challenge within the life of the local church. These are insights from pastors who have wrestled through difficulties in their own ministries and families. The volume that you hold in your hands is shaped by experience and anchored in the wisdom that the Holy Spirit supplies through His Word.
