Beyond the Dawn

A widow seeking refuge. A governor who never healed. A love worth fighting for.

Twelve years ago, tragedy tore her away from the only man she ever loved. Now Clarise Wells, widowed and nearly penniless, returns to Sitka, Alaska with two young children and no place to call home. Desperate to escape the influence of her late senator husband's powerful family, she longs for a quiet life on the Alaska frontier. But when Washington lawyers arrive demanding custody of her son, Clarise is thrust into a dangerous legal battle she cannot hope to win alone.

The only man with the influence to help her is the one she once left behind.

Alexei Amos, newly appointed territorial governor, is determined to bring a new era of justice to 1880s Alaska-protecting Native land rights, stabilizing frontier communities, and bringing hope to a people long failed by previous governors. But helping Clarise puts his reputation, leadership, and political future at risk. Washington demands obedience. Sitka demands stability. And Clarise and her children need protection that only Alexei can provide.

As federal pressure mounts, audits tighten, and a custody fight reaches from D.C. to the Alaska territory, Alexei must choose between safeguarding his position-or standing for the woman and the people he never stopped fighting for.

A powerful second-chance Christian historical romance.
