Becoming a Thunderbird Pilot: A Narrative History

For the lucky few the journey has just begun! We explore the application process, the semi-finalists scrutiny, the brutal finalist interviews and getting "The Call." Included is the critical process of Team assimilation, winter training, and carrying out the Thunderbirds mission to "Recruit, Retain and Inspire."

Dozens of interviews of current and former Thunderbird Commanders/Leaders and Demonstration Pilots share their introspective look back on what it took to become one of America's Ambassadors in Blue! Hundreds of beautiful B & W and color photographs.
