Pray'in/Praiz'en Kids Prayer Curriculum and Character Education Stories is a two-part curriculum. It is a prayer curriculum than utilizes the armor of God as noted in the scripture verses that are found in Ephesians 6:11-18. There are several lessons that connect a piece of armor to its importance to prayer. A picture is given for each piece of armor. Along with the armor of God, the curriculum gives suggestions for confessions that are based on each piece of armor, scriptures, songs, and crafts that will enhance and reinforce the prayer lessons. The craft suggestions are found in Appendix A. The crafts are designed to give students a hands-on approach to each piece of armor. The curriculum format is designed to help children understand the importance of prayer and the ways they can pray. The second portion of the curriculum is character education stories. The character education section utilizes eight-character traits, in story form, that will assist children with knowing the value of character. The discussion questions are designed to guide the children to critically think about each character trait and its importance. Each story is written so children have some identification with the characters. The multisensory curriculum integrates proven methods of teaching and instruction to assist children with the development of a prayer life and various character traits.Dr. Shelton's curriculum has been used at youth camps and in home school programs to teach children from different faith persuasions about prayer and character development. Prayer can help children become a person of strength, character, purpose, and confidence. The curriculum can stimulate a genuine desire in children to pray, praise, create, and grow in their relationship with the Lord.
