"I wrote the story for my son before leaving on a deployment, said Caccitolo, a father of three who served in the U.S. Army Special Forces and now works in the defense industry. "My wife, Kelley, thought it could offer other parents a way to share traditional values and help children grow into confident, humble, and respected members of their communities. The story is about a wolf who must leave his son to keep danger from the den and the life lessons he imparts on him should he not return."

Caccitolo weaves powerful life lessons into this beautifully illustrated book. He captures children's attention through the voice of a devoted wolf parent-teaching children about courage, honesty, emotional self-control, and the importance of choosing friends wisely.
