Sometimes losing everything is the best way to find yourself.

North Cooper's perfect life collapses after she learns of her husband's secret affair. She escapes to the comforting shores of Lake Michigan, drawn back to South Haven, the small town where she spent her early childhood. North is desperately searching for anything that will help her regain her footing and somehow find a path forward. Perhaps she can discover it in the familiar waves and sand of the quaint west coast town.

She soon reconnects with Aunt El, a warm, fiercely protective figure from her past who offers refuge and a safe space to process her heartbreak. As North settles into the rhythms of lakeshore life, she confronts old wounds and unexpected truths, realizing that the path to healing is rarely straightforward-and sometimes, as hard as you fight against it, leads you exactly where you need to be.
