In a magical garden where flowers can walk, talk, dance, and play, one little sunflower grows differently from the others. She needs extra care from kind gardeners, encouragement from loyal friends, and the courage to keep growing at her own pace as she learns to navigate the world in her own unique way.

Inspired by author Daphne Matthews' experience growing up with cerebral palsy and lovingly illustrated by her sister, Phoebe, The Friendship Garden uses the gentle metaphor of a sunflower's journey to help children understand disability with kindness, empathy, and compassion.

As the sunflower grows, she discovers something far more important than growing taller or moving faster. She learns that every flower has unique strengths, every challenge can be met with support, and everyone deserves the chance to belong. Through friendship, perseverance, and acceptance, she begins to bloom with confidence and purpose.
